Empowering Future Caribbean Marketers: Yello Media Group at CARIMAC’s BrandCamp 2025

By Chantel DaCosta

Chaynge.co and CARIMAC are collaborating on a unique marketing experience to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Caribbean School of Media and Communications. The event called ‘Brand Camp: The Marketers Meet-Up’ will be held at UWI Mona on Wednesday, 7 May 2025, at 2 pm.

Brand Camp will bring together over 180 marketing professionals from some of Jamaica’s most beloved and iconic brands including Yello Media Group (YMG).

Representing YMG is Group Executive Director of Marketing and Products, Keisha-Maria Cools-Lartigue and Senior Brand and Communications Manager, Terri-Ann Burrell.

The event promises to “showcase, celebrate, and inspire through the stories of Jamaica’s most admired campaigns and brands”. Over 100 tertiary students will be in attendance, making this the perfect opportunity to reach the next generation of marketers.

BrandCamp, touted as a TED Talk style meets brand story, will also have presentations from Flow, Sagicor as well as Yello.

Yello’s stellar team will present on ‘From Yellow Pages to Yello’ outlining the company’s evolution from a household name known for the telephone book to a Caribbean regional marketing and advertising powerhouse.

Our senior brand and communications manager shared “Our story isn’t just about a new name. It’s about a new way of connecting.  Our rebranding wasn’t a reset; it was a refinement that allowed our legacy brand to adapt and thrive without losing our Caribbean soul and connection to our communities”.

The event will also have a breakout networking session and a special presentation from the National Library of Jamaica.
